This home was built on a .11 acre, 50′ x 100′ parcel and includes 6 rooms, 3 bedroom, 2.5 baths and a 2 car garage.

Major Renovation
The homeowners contracted The Michaud Group to add additional space and remodel their existing Colonial styled home for their growing family. The Michaud Group and its Architect assisted the homeowners in designing a plan that would conform to the town floor area requirements, while meeting their budget and needs.
The new design consisted of a new layout and update to the entire second floor master suite with office, a staircase was added in the main hall to access the new third floor space, which included two new bedrooms, and a new full bath. The Michaud Group was very successful in preserving the existing home’s integrity while the homeowners remained in the home, as a major portion of the roof had to be removed during New England’s rainy season.
In addition, the homes existing oil burning HVAC system was upgraded to a high efficiency, cleaner burning gas system. The Michaud Group coordinated the effort with the gas utility company to provide a public gas line to the home. With the upgrade and relocation of the HVAC system, additional space was created to finish the basement.

Complete Teardown, New Construction
The homeowners met The Michaud Group while touring one of their model homes, they were trying to decide if it would be feasible to remodel their existing 1950′s Ranch home built on slab, on a nice lot or if it would be more feasible to demolish the existing home and start over. It was quickly determined it would be a more valuable investment to start over, allowing the homeowners a much larger home with a full basement. The Michaud Group assisted the homeowners in choosing a plan that would conform to the town requirements while meeting their budget and needs.
A new 2,600 s.f., 4 bedroom, 3 bath home, was constructed. The first floor offers a kitchen with island that opens up to the family room with gas fireplace, dining room, home office, in-law suite with full bath, and mudroom. The second floor offers a large luxurious master suite with an 11′ high tray ceiling, an oversized walk-in closet and a bathroom with double vanities, whirlpool and shower. Also included is two main bedrooms which share a full bathroom, laundry room, and a large bonus room with closet. A two car garage completes this house.

Major Renovation
The homeowners contracted The Michaud Group to remodel their existing 1930′s 1,000 s.f. bungalow styled home. This project challenged The Michaud Group with very difficult site conditions as the home sits 50′ up on the river banks of the Byrum river. Structurally engineered retaining walls had to be built and backfilled before the foundation walls could be set and poured. The Michaud Group also assisted the homeowners in designing a plan that would conform to the town requirements while meeting their budget and needs.
The new design consisted of a luxurious, modern 4,000 s.f., 5 bedroom, 4 bath home, on three floors. The first floor offers a remodeled kitchen, large family room with gas fireplace, dining room with wet bar, home office/sunroom, and in-law suite with full bath. The second floor offers a large luxurious master suite with an 15′ high cathedral ceiling, walk-in closets and a bathroom with double vanities, and very large shower with body sprays and rain heads. Also included is three main bedrooms which share a full bathroom, and laundry room. A finished basement and two car garage completes this house.
