Do I need a complete home plan to get started?
No, however it is good idea to have a sample of a house plan you are looking for. The Michaud Group can then take that sample plan and customize it into the home you want. We can also work with most any blueprints that you may have already had drawn up by a Designer or Architect.
Do you have any building lots available
at this time?
We often have several different building lots available throughout Central and Southwestern Connecticut. If you are considering building in the upcoming months you should contact The Michaud Group to see what may be available. If what you are looking is not available we may need ample time to search for your desired property.
How long will it take you to construct my house?
The duration usually depends on the overall size and complexity of the project. The season in which the house is constructed may also affect the duration of the project. The Michaud Group, will supply you with a working schedule with the projected duration of your project so you may make your plans accordingly. Whether you need to sell your current property, enter you children in a new school system or anything else in you life that may be affected by the construction process of your new home. We work with you in a very organized manner to reduce the stress of the new changes in you life, and make building your new dream home an enjoyable.
What will my new house cost? What is included in the price?
The Michaud Group will never give a ballpark or square footage price. There are many components in estimating a new home and it is unfair to you, to throw a price out that may not necessarily be accurate. We always will give you a quote based on the land price, house design, complexity of the project, and the quality of materials that are specified for the construction of your new home. An actual house plan you desire and materials specification list should be prepared prior to any price being submitted to you for your review. We will assist you in preparing both in an efficient manner so that you can make a calculated decision, in an expedited manner, so you can make a decision on how you would like to proceed.

Will you build on my lot?
Yes, The Michaud Group can work with you to create a home package, to build your dream home on your lot. We can work with you from the initial phase of design, obtaining permits, right to the placing of the last piece of trim, and obtaining your Occupancy permit.
Do I have a choice in building materials?
The Michaud Group has several standard building packages available to our clients. These packages can also be modified to meet your specific building needs and wishes.
How do I know that The Michaud Group can handle the construction of my new home?
The Michaud Group has a strong track record in building high quality homes and meeting all of our customer needs. What type of insurance do you carry?
The Michaud Group, carries all of the necessary Insurance, which includes Liability, Workers Compensation, and in addition all of our new home projects we carry a Builders Risk Policy. All of our subcontractors are required to carry insurance coverage without any exceptions. You the homeowner can request a certificate of insurance from us.
Are you and your sub-contractors licensed?
The Michaud Group LLC, is registered in Connecticut as both a new home builder (#3745) and a home improvement contractor (#555147). Our sub-contractors meet all Connecticut licensing requirements. |
